Gold Foiled Habaki
Finding and fitting a habaki to a blade it was not made for is challenging to say the least. But it's not altogether impossible, and this one is so nice that I'd hate to relegate it to the parts box. Hopefully, someone here will be able to use it for a special blade and save themselves a bunch of money to boot.

This is a very high quality work and in excellent condition. There is only a very minor blemish to the patterning on the foil in one place (see image), but just a burnish to the pattern and not a tear. A habaki of this type and quality will easily run $800 USD these days and that doesn't include the shipping/brokerage costs of getting the sword to the habaki maker and back.

The following measurements are as close as I can get of the nakago it was made for:

Width of nakago from Mune to ha: 27.5 mm
Thickness of nakago at Mune: 7.5 mm
Thickness of nakago at Ha: 1.25 mm
Thickness of nakago at approximate shinogi: 8 mm
Width of shinogiji: 9 mm
If you've got a blade that it will fit, this would definitely dress it up right.
