Howard Clark 1086 Naginata
Overall length 51"
This massive Naginata by Howard Clark is forged from 1086. The shape is excellent and the naginata-hi and soe-hi have been cut with accuracy and skill. Howard Clark very rarely makes this kind of sword so there are not many by him. It is both intimidating and fascinating, inspired by the mass and shape of a Nambokucho period sword of this type.
The cutting edge is 26 7/8 inches long, and the overall length of the sword including nakago is 51 inches, longer than many katana.
It has a suguha hamon with nijuba and ashi. The boshi turns back in komaru.
